Written study or consultation: what is the difference?
The two pages answer different needs. Here, the deliverable is a written text on a clearly defined subject, which you keep and can show. On the consultations page, the exchange with the chartered accountant is at the heart of the service.
On this page: a written text
- The subject is defined upfront and handled in writing
- You receive a structured, referenced document
- Suited when you need something written to keep or to show
On the consultations page: an exchange
- The exchange with the chartered accountant is at the heart of the service
- Suited when the subject takes shape through discussion
- The exchange ends with a written summary
Outside these formats, or a large volume of documents?
A voluminous file, a subject spanning several countries, ongoing litigation or a text intended for a particular third party: describe your need through the form and we propose a tailored price, before any commitment.
- Describe the subject to be handled and its context
- Specify the documents you have
- Mention any deadline that applies to you

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a consultation?
A study or a written opinion has a written deliverable on a clearly defined subject as its purpose: you receive a structured document you keep and can show. A consultation puts the exchange with the chartered accountant at the heart of the service, and ends with a summary. If you hesitate, describe your need through the form: we point you to the right format.
Which format should I choose between the opinion, the study and the review?
The focused written opinion handles one specific question, one subject per opinion. The written study covers several related questions in a single document, with numbered answers and recommendations. The review starts from the situation itself: we go through the documents in the file and deliver a full review with an action plan.
What does the deliverable contain?
A structured text: a recap of the facts and of the documents examined, the analysis, the applicable references (legislation and tax authority guidelines) and the conclusion. The study adds numbered answers and recommendations; the review adds an action plan.
What if my subject goes beyond the chosen format?
We tell you before starting the work and propose either the appropriate format or an additional quote. Nothing is invoiced beyond the price paid without your express consent.
Do you handle subjects governed by foreign legislation?
The deliverable covers the French side of your situation. Where a point falls under foreign legislation, we flag it and expressly exclude it from the scope: you therefore know precisely what the text covers and what it does not.
Who writes the text?
Samuel Hayot, chartered accountant and statutory auditor registered with the Ordre of Paris Île-de-France, whose firm is located at 58 rue de Monceau, Paris 8. Your documents and exchanges are covered by professional secrecy.
What happens right after payment?
Stripe sends you an immediate confirmation and the confirmation page sets out what to send us. You email your subject and documents to Samuel@hayot-expertise.fr; we confirm receipt within 24 to 48 business hours, together with the firm's engagement letter.
What if you cannot handle my subject?
We tell you before starting any work: a subject outside the firm's scope, a question governed by foreign law, or documents that do not allow a conclusion. Where no work has been started, the payment is refunded in full.
