Updated March 2026 - In 2026, creating and domiciling your business quickly on the internet has become the norm. But rapidly does not mean hastily. The formalities go through the one-stop shop for business formalities managed by the INPI, and the quality of the file determines the actual speed of processing. The most poorly prepared point often remains the domiciliation: head office address, supporting documents, consistency with the activity, lease, co-ownership.
Short answer: to create your business online, choose your legal form (EI, SAS, SASU, SARL), prepare your domiciliation (personal domicile, commercial premises or domiciliation company), gather the supporting documents (statutes, identity, proof of registered office, beneficial owners), then submit your file to the INPI one-stop shop. Most creations are processed in 3 to 7 working days if the file is complete.
The 4 steps to create online without wasting time#
1. Choose the right legal form#
Before any formality, you must decide between several options which will have lasting tax, social and financial consequences:
- individual enterprise (EI) — the default régime since the 2022 reform, with automatic séparation of personal and professional assets;
- single-member company (SASU or EURL) — if you do business alone but want a corporate framework;
- multi-partner company (SAS, SARL) — if you are several partners;
- micro-enterprise — if your turnover remains below the thresholds (€188,700 for sales, €77,700 for services in 2026).
The choice of the legal form determines your social system (TNS or similar employee), your taxation (IR or IS) and your ability to raise funds. To find out more, consult our guide on business creation training and our file on legal creation obligations.
2. Prepare the domiciliation#
You must identify a headquarters address consistent with the project. This step is not handled at the last moment, because it is what determines the admissibility of your file with the one-stop shop.
Domiciliation determines the address appearing on the K or Kbis extract, the attached tax service, the compétent jurisdiction in the event of a dispute and the image sent to your partners.
3. Prepare supporting documents#
The saving of time comes from a complete file from the first submission. An incomplete file results in a rejection or a request for additional information, which extends the deadline by 5 to 15 working days.
Required documents for a company:
- signed statutes (digitized originals);
- proof of headquarters (lease, certificate of domiciliation, authorization from the owner);
- identity document of the manager and partners;
- déclaration of beneficial owners (DBE);
- certificate of non-conviction and parentage;
- documents specific to the regulated activity if applicable.
Required documents for a sole proprietorship:
- identity document;
- proof of address;
- déclaration of non-conviction;
- proof of address if différent from personal address.
4. Deposit at the one-stop shop#
Since January 1, 2023, the creation formality goes exclusively through the one-stop shop on entreprises.service-public.fr. The old CFEs have been deleted. It is the INPI which centralizes and redistributes to the compétent organizations (URSSAF, SIE, registry, INSEE).
The most fréquent inconsistencies that block processing concern the head office address that does not comply with the supporting documents, the declared activity that does not correspond to the expected APE code, or statuses containing missing clauses.

How to register without errors: the 4 options#
Domiciliation at personal home#
The manager can domicile the company at his personal home under certain conditions:
- for an IE: possibility opened by article L. 526-1 of the Commercial Code, without any particular formality;
- for a company: the manager can have the headquarters at his home for a maximum period of 5 years, unless opposed by the owner or the co-ownership association (Civil Code, article 631-1);
- limitation: certain residential leases or co-ownership regulations may contain restrictive clauses.
Domiciliation in commercial premises#
This is the most direct option if the company already has dedicated premises. The commercial lease serves as proof of headquarters.
Use of a domiciliation company#
Approved domiciliation companies provide a registered address and ensure the receipt of mail. This solution is governed by articles L. 123-11-1 et seq. of the Commercial Code.
Advantages: stable professional address, controlled cost (15 to 60 €/mois), confidentiality of personal home, banking credibility.
Points of vigilance: check the approval of the domiciliary and its compulsory financial insurance. The duration of the contract is limited to 2 years maximum, renewable.
Domiciliation in coworking or business center#
Certain spaces offer domiciliation services. Please note: not all of them are approved as domiciliation companies within the meaning of the Commercial Code. Check that the service includes the provision of a head office address.
The mistakes that slow down your creation the most#
In practice, we find that rejections almost always come from the same causes:
- choose the address before checking the conditions of use — a lease with a clause prohibiting commercial activity can block the domiciliation;
- submit incomplete proof — a certificate without the signature of the domiciliary will be refused;
- mix personal address, place of business and registered office — these three addresses may be différent;
- forget opening the tax professional space — the SIRET number obtained, you must create the space on impôts.gouv.fr;
- neglecting the déclaration of beneficial owners — obligatory for any company, its omission leads to systematic rejection.
Hayot Expertise Advice: the best way to go quickly is to make the domiciliation reliable before the formality. An incomplete file wastes much more time than a serious 48-hour preparation. Our clients who prepare their file in advance are registered in 4 to 5 working days, compared to 10 to 15 days for those who file hastily.
What to do immediately after registration#
Once the company is created and the SIRET number assigned, quickly follow these steps:
- Create the professional space impôts.gouv.fr — essential for your VAT déclarations, tax returns, CFE and CVAE. Creation is done on impôts.gouv.fr with your SIRET number.
- Open the professional bank account — obligatory for companies, strongly recommended for IEs.
- Take out compulsory insurance — professional civil liability, ten-year for construction.
- Organize the accounting — choose invoicing software that complies with article 286 of the CGI, or entrust the keeping to an accountant.
- Make the first déclarations — déclaration of existence to the SIE, option for the tax régime if necessary.

Conclusion#
Creating and registering your business quickly on the internet in 2026 is perfectly possible, provided you treat creation as a process, not as a simple form. Domiciliation, supporting documents and the consistency of the file are the real accelerators. The INPI one-stop shop has simplified the procedure, but it has not reduced the quality requirement for the documents provided.
Entrepreneurs who succeed in their online creation are those who prepare their file in advance: legal form chosen with simulation, domiciliation validated, complete and consistent documents, tax professional space activated quickly.
Frequently asked questions
